WELCOME TO LOWER KINDERGARTEN
MY FIVE SENSES
CIRCLE TIME: In a Lower Kindergarten (LKG) circle time session, the teacher starts by greeting the children warmly, fostering a sense of community and familiarity. Each child takes turns saying "good morning" to their peers, practicing polite greetings. The teacher then introduces the concept of gratitude by highlighting the phrase "thank you." The children are encouraged to express thanks for kind gestures or help received. This helps instill basic manners and appreciation among the young learners. As they take turns thanking each other for various acts of kindness, such as sharing toys or helping with tasks, they begin to understand the importance of showing appreciation. The circle time not only builds social skills but also creates a supportive and respectful classroom environment where gratitude is valued.
SCIENCE TIME: In today's science exploration, we delved into the wonders of sight and hearing. The class gathered eagerly as we began by discussing which part of our bodies we use for seeing and hearing. With bright eyes and attentive ears, the children closed their eyes briefly to identify various sounds around us, from the gentle ticking of a clock to the distant chirping of birds. To deepen their understanding, we played a lively game where I made different sounds like tapping on a desk or shaking a maraca, prompting the children to guess the source of each sound. This hands-on activity not only sharpened their listening skills but also encouraged them to connect sounds with their real-world origins, enhancing their appreciation for the senses of hearing and sight.
ENGLISH TIME: "In today's English lesson, we immersed ourselves in the
delightful tale of 'Sasa and Sini on the Slide.' As we examined the colorful illustrations depicting Sasa and Sini's playful escapades, we pondered why they chose to slide down together instead of separately. Sini's cheerful expression hinted at the joy they felt sharing this moment. Meanwhile, a picture of Sasa looking surprised prompted us to wonder what unexpected twist might have occurred during their adventure. Through these images, we explored not only the characters' actions but also their emotions and the unfolding narrative, fostering a deeper understanding of storytelling and language.""Sasa and Sini on the Slide," we explore their playful adventures. In one image, Sasa and Sini are gleefully sliding down together. Why did they choose to slide down together instead of separately? Sini's wide smile suggests they're having a lot of fun. In another picture, Sasa seems surprised.
MATH TIME: In today's math activity, we focused on numbers 1 to 5 through a fun and interactive counting exercise using blocks. The children eagerly participated as we started with number 1, displaying the number card and placing one block beside it. They attentively counted along as we progressed to numbers 2, 3, 4, and 5, matching each number card with the corresponding number of blocks. The activity not only reinforced their ability to identify numerical symbols but also strengthened their counting skills in a hands-on way. By the end of the session, the children were excitedly pointing out each number and confidently counting out the blocks to match, demonstrating their growing proficiency with numbers 1 to 5.
ART TIME: Today, the classroom was buzzing with creativity as the children embarked on a delightful play dough cupcake-making adventure. Armed with vibrant colors of play dough, they eagerly began by smudging and blending different shades to create the perfect cupcake bases. Using their tiny hands, they beat the dough to make it soft and pliable, ensuring each cupcake was just right. With giggles and focus, they molded the dough into small, round shapes, carefully forming the base of their cupcakes. Some added tiny beads or sequins as sprinkles, while others crafted miniature cherries or hearts as simple representations of toppings. Each child proudly displayed their unique creations, showcasing not just colorful cupcakes but also their imagination and fine motor skills. It was a delightful sight to see how play dough transformed into these edible-looking treats, sparking joy and fostering creativity in every little baker.
