MY FIVE SENSES
MATH TIME: Today, we’re going to have a fun adventure with our funny little clown! Our clown is a colorful character made up of three special shapes: triangles, circles, and squares. Let’s start by singing a joyful song about our clown.
As we sing, we’ll look closely at the clown and count how many triangles, circles, and squares we can find. First, let’s look at the clown’s hat. It’s pointy and made of triangles. Can you count all the triangles on the hat? Next, let’s look at the clown’s big, round eyes. They are circles, and they help our clown see all the fun things happening. How many circles can you find? Now, let’s check out the clown’s shoes and buttons. They are squares, with straight sides and sharp corners. Can you count all the squares on the clown? After we finish singing, we’ll have a chance to count the shapes together. Counting shapes is not only fun but also helps us learn about the different shapes and how they fit together. We’ll see how many triangles, circles, and squares we can find on our clown. It’s like a shape treasure hunt! By the end of our activity, we’ll know exactly how many of each shape our funny little clown has. Are you ready to sing and count? Let’s get started and make our clown the best one ever!ENGLISH TIME: Today, we’re going to explore the letter "S" and have lots of fun doing it! First, let’s learn about the sound of the letter "S." It makes a soft "ssss" sound, just like a snake. Let’s all say it together: "ssss." Can you think of some words that start with the letter "S"? How about Sun, Star, Sand, Snake, and Sock? These words all begin with our special letter.
Next, let’s practice forming the letter "S." Watch closely as I draw it in the air—start at the top, make a curve to the middle, and then curve again to the bottom. Now, let’s try drawing it with our fingers. Feel how the letter curves smoothly. After that, we’re going to trace the letter "S" in a sand tray. Feel the soft, cool sand as you trace the letter with your finger. It’s like making your own sand artwork! To make our day even more fun, we’ll sing a song about "Sasa and Sini on the Slide." In the song, Sasa and Sini slide down the slide while we sing about the letter "S" and its sound. When we sing, think about how the letter "S" feels and sounds. After our song, everyone will get a turn to slide down the slide, just like Sasa and Sini. As you slide, remember the letter "S" and its sound. Today we learned a lot about the letter "S," practiced tracing it, and had fun sliding! Great job, everyone!STORY TIME: Today, we’re going to have a special story time with a fun story called "I Am Special." This story helps us learn about the five senses and how they make us unique. First, we’ll look at some pictures that go along with our story.
Each picture shows something we can see, hear, touch, taste, or smell. As we look at each picture, think about what sense is being used. For example, when we see a picture of a delicious apple, we use our sense of taste to imagine how it might taste. When we see a picture of a flower, we use our sense of smell to think about how it might smell. We’ll also see pictures of things we can touch, like a soft teddy bear, and things we can hear, like a musical instrument. As we look at the pictures, let’s talk about what we think each one might be like. After looking at the pictures, we’ll read the story "I Am Special" together. In this story, each character uses their senses to explore the world and discover how special they are. They learn that each sense helps them experience and enjoy life in different ways. By the end of the story, we’ll see how all the senses work together to make us unique and special. As we read, think about how your own senses help you every day. Let’s get ready to see, hear, touch, taste, and smell all the wonderful things in "I Am Special."
